Vivitrol Injection. One shot a month.

Vivitrol is a once-monthly injection that blocks opioid receptors and reduces alcohol cravings. No daily pill to remember, which is a real advantage for many patients in recovery.

Treatment, explained simply.

What Vivitrol does

Blocks the receptors that crave

Vivitrol (extended-release naltrexone) binds opioid receptors and shuts them down. If you use opioids while on Vivitrol, you don't feel the effect. It also reduces alcohol cravings for many patients.

Once a month

No daily pill, no daily decision

A single intramuscular injection lasts about 28 days. That removes the daily mental load of remembering medication, which is often where recovery wobbles.

Non-narcotic

Zero abuse potential

Vivitrol isn't an opioid and isn't a controlled substance. There's no high, no dependence, and no risk of misuse. Some patients prefer that.

From consultation to lasting relief.

  1. Intake and detox check

    60 minute first visit

Vivitrol requires you to be opioid-free for 7 to 14 days before the first dose. We confirm your status, review medical history, and order any labs needed.

  2. First injection

    15 minute visit

The injection goes into the gluteal muscle. The visit itself takes about 15 minutes. We watch you for any immediate reaction and answer questions.

  3. Monthly injections

    Every 4 weeks

You return monthly for the next dose, paired with a brief check-in on how things are going. Most months are quick. We coordinate with your therapist or sponsor.

  4. Ongoing recovery support

As long as you need it

Many patients stay on Vivitrol for 6 to 12 months and beyond, with counseling alongside. We help you decide when and how to step off.

You may be an ideal candidate if any of these ring true.

  • You're past acute opioid withdrawal and want a non-narcotic recovery medication.
  • You'd rather not take a daily pill or visit a Suboxone clinic frequently.
  • You're working on alcohol use disorder and oral naltrexone hasn't been consistent.
  • You're in a structured recovery program that recommends Vivitrol.
  • You want a medication with no abuse potential and no controlled-substance paperwork.
